This coffee is not for everyone, it is an experimental lot and produces a truly stunning cup with intense flavours.
It is expensive, that is reflective of the process and the handling of the coffee at farm.
This coffee is a competition coffee for sure but can be enjoyed by anyone particularly someone looking to explore the boundaries of coffee and flavours.
Colombia’s many faces are stunningly surprising: two oceans, the Amazon River, snow-capped mountains as well as vivid urban communities. Each state and region in Colombia is said to have an individual character creating a diverse mix of culture as well as topographic settings.
With average temperatures between 18 and 22 Celsius degrees, different microclimates are created that are perfect for coffee cultivation. Orlando, the owner of the Farm La María is agronomist and responsible for technical assistance on many different coffee plantations.
For several years, he and his wife have had the desire to operate their own farm but due to his busy work life, he never got the chance. Not giving up, he recently decided to rent a piece of land where he started growing his first 5,000 Geisha trees.
Then, Orlando realized that his possibilities to process this special variety in a way he imagined were limited.
So, he went on to rent more land and use it for natural processing.
Ever since, he has become quite in expert in natural processing and
regularly participates in competition.
The biggest challenge he encountered while gaining more and more experience was to achieve a relevant quantity for competitions.
Achieving the minimum quantity standards, he did not compromise on cup quality.
This coffee stuns with complexity and lets you indulge in a colorful tropical fruit basket.
